Bad Luck Burger Club

Andy Atkins and Cody Driggers

The Bad Luck Burger Club Story

This is a story about the best to ever do it. This is a story about the burger bois.

Andy Atkins and Cody Driggers cut their teeth in their 20s and early 30s touring the world full time in rock and metal bands. The two crossed paths at shows and festivals over the years and would hang out and ride motorcycles occasionally when they were home in Nashville, TN. Eventually tour life was replaced with a more stable day-to-day, but the DIY mentality you earn from a life on the road isn't easily snuffed out. New music projects, side hustles, and culinary interest found its way into each of their lives as they fought off the monotony of routine.

Then, 2020. Bad luck for everyone. Layoffs and industry gridlock. The pandemic found the future bad boys of burgers sequestered to their homes, coincidentally each cooking on flattops to kill time and stay busy working on their own ideal smash burger recipes. Once the world settled down a bit, Andy and Cody would hang out often, cooking burgers, making sauces, experimenting with ingredients and builds, obsessed with getting it dialed. The final build: a toasted potato bun, two patties super smashed and covered with american cheese, grilled onions, thin sliced dill pickles, and the saaauuuccce. Friends wanted these burgers all the time, and the boys figured perhaps other folks might want them too. If they were gonna take it to the streets, they needed a name. Paying homage to the reason they ended up here: Bad Luck. And their luck was about to turn.

On May 1, 2021, Andy and Cody set up their griddles under a pop up tent in the parking lot of a friend's barber shop, and people came to eat. They did it again in a new location the next day, and more people came. They did it all summer, and people kept lining up in droves weekend after weekend for a taste of the best burger in town. So the bois bought a food truck, and the people kept coming. It's a full time gig now. It's a party.

It's a club.

How do you join? You come eat. All are welcome. Everyone's invited. You're in.

It's either worth the wait or it ain't!
